Bulk Storage

Bulk storage offers a highly efficient and cost-effective method for preserving goods. Its effectiveness stems from its direct ventilation system, where 100% of the airflow from the fan is directed through the product. A well-engineered bulk system ensures uniform air distribution, guaranteeing consistent temperature and humidity levels throughout the stored pile. This equilibrium contributes to optimal preservation conditions, safeguarding the quality and longevity of the stored goods.

In bulk storage for potatoes or onions, the product is stacked in masses reaching heights of 4 meters. This method boasts high effectiveness due to its direct ventilation system, ensuring that 100% of the airflow passes through the product. With the right equipment, this facilitates precise control over temperature, RH, and CO₂ levels throughout the entire storage facility.

This system finds its niche when large quantities of the same variety of product need to be stored for uniform durations. Its advantages include efficient drying and cooling, consistent temperature and humidity levels, and optimal distribution of anti-sprouting agents. Moreover, it proves to be a cost-effective storage method.

However, there are limitations. Bulk storage does not allow for the separation of different lots or varieties within the same room. Additionally, special machinery is required for filling the storage facility. As such, this method is most suitable for managing large quantities of the same product and variety, particularly in industrial contexts.
