Box storage involves storing products in large bins, typically stacked up to 5 to 7 boxes high. This method offers exceptional flexibility for storing produce, providing an ideal system for categorizing various products, varieties, sizes, and qualities. The standard wooden box size measures 1200 mm x 1600 mm x 1235 mm, offering standardized dimensions for efficient storage and handling.
Why a suction ventilation system?
A suction system offers superior air distribution within your storage facility. The key advantage? It significantly reduces the operational hours required to achieve optimal product drying and ensures uniform quality throughout. This translates into energy savings and a substantial reduction in weight loss attributed to dehydration.
How does it works?
A suction wall has a suction opening between each 2 rows of boxes. The space between the boxes, and in front of the opening, is called the ventilation duct. It is covered by a suction cover. In the ventilation wall the fans force the air up, creating an underpressure in the wall and in the ducts. This underpressure sucks the air very uniformly through your boxes and product. Any air treatment, such as heating or humidifying, should occur before the air flows through your product. Therefore, air treatment occurs above the product. In a suction system, the inlet and outlet hatches are always placed in the same outside wall. The outlet hatches just above the fans, and the inlet hatches a little higher.
